Mr. N.R. Merrett, head of the fish group of the department of Zoology of the Natural History Museum, London, I was naturally extremely pleased and satisfied for the recognition of my work within this field. I therefore decided there and then, that the show must go on! Previously I had concentrated on 'Hazardous Mediterranean Fish' ,from the medical point of view. But I said to myself that the various other fish in the mediterranean have never done me any harm. In fact, they have always given me the best nutriment, and I must say that when I eat fish in the evening, I have never had any bad dreams or nightmares. Their nutricious proteins seems to soot my brain very well. My wife Beatrix knows this very well and practically always, before I retire she prepares a delicious fish meal and of course, incidentally, I am solely and enthusiastically dedicating this pictorial book to her. I cannot forget our local fishermen who have always and with enthusiasm brought me specimen of fish for research purposes and preservation in taxidermy processing, as exhibited in the Wingacourt Tower Museum, Tower Street, St. Paul's Bay. |
